Senior Spotlight: Julieta
Why did you choose/decide to go to Bennett Day School?
I actually never heard about Bennett Day School until my dad recommended that I apply. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into until I learned that my class was going to be the first freshman class, which surprised me. That’s when I decided I wanted to be part of the experience.
What are your plans after you graduate?
I plan to study criminal justice at Michigan State. My goal is to pursue a career as a forensic scientist.
What advice would you give rising seniors?
Apply to as many colleges as you can even if you plan to study out of state. Always stay on top of deadlines and check your emails every other day. If you’re confused about something, ask for help; your advisors and counselors are there to guide you.
What’s your favorite project-based learning (PBL) memory?
It would have to be our first ever PBL, The Shape of Chicago, that was the most memorable for me. Exploring the many neighborhoods in Chicago, going on trips out of state, and building the scaled map table are some of the reasons this is the most iconic PBL for me.
What are you excited for after Bennett?
I’m excited to live on my own, be independent/responsible for myself, and expand my knowledge in my area of study. Overall, I’m excited to grow as a person and teach and inspire those with what I’ve learned.
