One last week of work getting ready for the beginning of school. All of the heavy work is done. It’s down to painting and other material finishes. Ceiling grids are in, just waiting to drop the tiles once the inspectors okay everything. Final coat of paint is going on in the corridors as the other trades work their way out of the building. Doors have arrived and installation will be complete by the end of the week. The access control and security systems are programmed and waiting for the exterior door hardware and outside walls to be painted so the camera’s can go up. The 4th floor Music Room is ready for furniture. The Recreation room flooring is being installed and should be ready for a final touch ups next week. The elevators are complete and ready for inspection. The long lead kitchen sinks have arrived and are being installed. The food service provider is working with the City to get their permit in place. The classroom Audio/Visual systems and equipment will be completed and final tested early next week. The fire alarm and fire protection systems have been tested, certified and are now online.
The main playground equipment was delivered early this week. The foundation and concrete slab work has started and despite this week’s wet weather, the equipment should be ready when school opens. The final landscaping will be going in next week, access control devices are being added to the fence gates. The final exterior painting of the north and south stair is well underway.
The balance of the furniture will be delivered on Monday and teachers will be setting up their classrooms to be ready for school opening on Monday, August 29.
