Construction Update on New Campus as of 5/31/16
Exciting news this week – the roof is complete and drywall work is underway. The roofing membrane for the north and south sections of the building was installed at the end of last week. This completes the building enclosure for these areas and allows the interior finish work to start. City inspectors approved the in-wall mechanical, electrical and plumbing work. The first three floors are stocked with material; the exterior walls are insulated; and the gypsum wallboard installation has started. Work is concentrated on the first floor with the subsequent floors to follow about a week apart.
Installation of the elevator has started and should be complete by early July. All window framing is complete, with the exception of the multi-storied arched windows on the west wall, and a few openings for material access on the north wall. Glass for the ‘storefront’ openings on the east wall should be arriving in the next two weeks.
Mechanical, electrical and plumbing in-wall and ceiling work continues on the 4th floor. This will be the last area to receive finish materials. Penthouse construction on the north roof is continuing on schedule, and rooftop mechanical equipment will be delivered to the site in the next few weeks.
Landscaping continues in the northwest corner of the site. The area is being prepped for topsoil. The perimeter fencing has been measured and is in production. It will be one of the last items installed so contractors can maintain the current routes for deliveries and getting materials into the building.
There has been a tremendous amount of work accomplished in the last few weeks, and the construction operation continues to be on schedule.
