Construction Update: Hard Hat Visit
School administrators took their first hard hat tour of the new Bennett Day School campus this week to get a look at the progress and an early preview of their classrooms and offices. Everyone was very impressed with how the spaces are organized and how they will meet their planned functions. Construction progress continues at a rapid pace and on schedule.
More floor areas are now open for wall framing and for other trades to start their work. The third floor is now fully decked and partially poured. The south stair installation has progressed to the third floor. Structural steel erection on the fourth floor is continuing. The main electrical switch gear arrived and is being installed. Fire protection, ductwork and overhead plumbing work continues on the lower level and the first floor. The HVAC contractor has started setting the fan coil units in the ceiling of the lower level. This equipment provides the heating and cooling for each room. The electrician will be mobilizing their crews next week to start running conduit for the in-wall power and data outlets and connections to the HVAC equipment. Off-site, the team continues to meet with the furniture and AV/Security providers to finalize details and orders there as well.
