Senior Spotlight: Brosnan ✨

Q: What are your plans after you graduate?

A: After I graduate, I plan on studying computer science at the University of Michigan (@uofmichigan) and researching AGI or Fusion power through their UROP research program (@uropumich).

Q: What’s your favorite project-based learning (PBL) memory?

A: My favorite PBL project HAS to be my Accessify AI project with my best friend Ian. This was for our accessibility unit, and I was so proud of our final product. We worked really well in unison as we created an AI model that captions images for website designers for their alt tags. The model also wrote the HTML code needed for the image’s alt tag. We had large companies and small recognize this as a useful product and even offered us money for use of it.

Q: What are you excited for after Bennett?

A: I’m really excited to conduct research on life-changing ideas like AGI and Fusion power for our future and our future generations. I have been wanting to work towards these since I was very young, and I’m so happy Bennett has prepared me accordingly to be able to potentially invent these creations.

Our 6th graders rece

Fossils, food, and fun! ✨

Our 6th graders recently spent the day in Milwaukee where they explored the @milwaukeepublicmuseum and enjoyed lunch (and ice cream) at the Milwaukee Public Market! At the museum, students were given a guided tour about the evolution of dinosaurs, and each student got to take home their own real fossil.

Travel opportunities like this give our students the chance to bond and experience new things together. 🩵

Q: Why did you choose

Senior Spotlight: Soren ✨

Q: Why did you choose/decide to go to Bennett Day School?

A: I went to Bennett because of its flexible curriculum, which made it easier to balance school and my sport. As a competitive horseback rider, my schedule can be demanding with training and travel. The teachers and staff were very adaptive and understanding of my busy schedule as a competitive athlete, and they worked with me to make things manageable.

Q: What are your plans after you graduate?

A: My plan is to attend the University of Kentucky (@universityofky), where I will major in Sports Leadership on the coaching route and I hope to minor in Film. I will also be competing full-time in my sport while working at my barn. In addition, I hope to travel abroad through the University of Kentucky!

Q: What’s your favorite project-based learning (PBL) memory?

A: My favorite PBL experience was my first project in my freshman year. Coming into the school nervous about the curriculum and unsure if it was right for me, I was grouped with all upperclassmen, which intimidated me at first. However, it ended up being one of the best experiences I’ve ever had, pushing me to grow into who I am now. I had the opportunity to go on numerous field trips to explore our topic, which was water, and we created a hypothetical food drive that eventually turned into a real one. Through this project, I formed friendships that I still have today.

Q: What advice would you give rising seniors?

A: My biggest advice to rising seniors is to take full advantage of the resources that Bennett offers you. Bennett provides countless opportunities to help you on whatever path you choose, whether through academics or real-life experiences. Secondly, appreciate your senior year it goes by so fast.

This trimester, our Middle Schoolers are learning

This trimester, our Middle Schoolers are learning about the human body for their Project-Based Learning (PBL). ✨

In the TESLab (Tinkering & Engineering Sciences), they are exploring the intersection of technology, empathy, innovation, and design. Students are learning to read and write using the Braille system—then using @tinkercad and 3D printing to create more descriptive Braille signs for classrooms here at Bennett.

Q: What are your plan

Senior Spotlight: Riley ✨

Q: What are your plans after you graduate?

A: I plan to study film & television at DePaul University (@depaulu), and my dream job is to make concert visuals for music artists! I also love to do promotional media and marketing, so I wouldn’t mind doing that either!

Q: Why did you choose/decide to go to Bennett Day School?

A: I chose to go to Bennett because of the efficient and applicable nature of Project-Based Learning (PBL). As a kid who loved presentations, public speaking, and group work, Bennett fit my high school needs perfectly!

Q: What’s your favorite project-based learning (PBL) memory?

A: Being here for so long means it’s hard to pick just one, but the water PBL was a favorite of mine. My team made a small-scale model of a city block downtown and built a tall apartment building, which was piped with altered PVC to help address the issue of lead pipes in the city. We even did the plumbing and got a pump for the water to fill up a small bathtub in an apartment. It was so cool!

Last Friday, Bennett families came together to cel

Last Friday, Bennett families came together to celebrate the many cultures that make our community so special! ✨

Our North Gym was buzzing as students, parents, and faculty members got to try delicious foods and engage in hands-on activities. PLUS we were treated to a high-energy Indian dance lesson from @rhythmrootsdance and a beautiful performance by @unitingvoicesorg’s West Town Neighborhood Choir.

This event was a vibrant showcase of learning, connection, and joy. Thanks to the Family Association for making this happen and to everyone who shared their culture, traditions, and experiences with us! 🩵
