Check out Story Dealer at the Chicago Toy & Game Fair

The Chicago Toy & Game Fair will take place November 18 and 19, and Bennett Day School will be out in full force to discover new, innovative gadgets and devices of the season! ChiTAG is one of our favorite events of the year – not only is it fun, but it also reinforces the importance of play. From making sculptures out of DIY playdough to creating elaborate images with magnetic tiles, research has shown that play has a significant impact on human development, especially during the early stages of life.

More exciting news: This year, we will be exhibiting and selling our own game called Story Dealer™! Through dynamic conversations between our students and educators, our Bennett Innovations team created storytelling cards to help reinforce Bennett Day’s mission to create a collaborative, inquiry-based environment.

As of now, we have produced two decks of cards. One deck is STEM/STEAM-themed, and it is designed to inspire open-ended tales in themes of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. The second deck is a DIY Maker-Set and offers cards with blank areas for your children to illustrate their own cards in the suits of the five W’s (Who? What? Where? When? and Why?). We are working to expand to more sets in the future, as well. Proceeds from Story Dealer cards will help fund our grants and scholarship program.
