Bambini & Me

Bambini & Me (Parent and Tot Playdate)

Bambini & Me playdates provide an opportunity for children ages 18-36 months and their parents/caregivers to play, learn, and grow together!

A typical playdate includes explorations of music, nature, literature, and arts through sensory and open play. In addition, a snack will be offered, giving you and your child time to gather around a communal table. You will have the opportunity to meet other families in the community and learn more about Bennett Day School’s early childhood program from a veteran early childhood teacher.

These playdates are intended for children ages 18 – 36 months. All attendees must register ahead of time. Please note that participation is in no way connected to the Bennett Day School Admissions process.

Playdate Packs

You can pay for a single playdate for $20, or purchase playdate packs at a discount. Purchasing a pack provides your family with flexibility – with a playdate pack, you don’t need to register for each individual date ahead of time, you can just show up on the mornings that work for you and your child. We will take attendance at each playdate so we can keep track of how many playdates you have remaining as the year goes on.

Meet our Bambini & Me Teacher, Allison Bartolozzi

Read Allison's Bio

Allison began her journey working with children during her undergraduate years at Ohio University where she was first introduced to the Reggio Emilia approach. This initial experience working in an early childcare center was so inspiring that she decided to delve further into the practices of progressive education.

After spending a few years in Chicago from 2009 to 2013, Allison moved to Thailand to broaden her experiences and continue her education career in an international setting. There, she taught at a Reggio Emilia school, leaning under Mia Cavalca, her mentor and the school’s Atelierista, and also attended Professional Development meetings with pedagogistas from Italy. Upon her return to Chicago in 2017, Allison began working with Bennett Day School as an early childhood educator. She has continued to deepen her understanding of progressive and alternative education models by attending the Reggio Emilia study group in Italy, as well as a multitude of conferences and professional development sessions.

Allison’s passion for learning alongside children and fostering their education is displayed through her many open-ended projects, where children are encouraged to explore the many languages of learning and expression.
