Molly Thiel

Molly Thiel is delighted to be a part of the Bennett Day School community! Originally from Wisconsin, she moved to Chicago in the fall of 2023. Molly was an Early Childhood Educator in Madison for five years, where she taught using a Chinese Play approach called AnjiPlay. To learn this method she attended a Study Tour and Residency in Anji County, China. A few years later, when she and her husband moved to Singapore in 2021, she completed her Infant/Toddler Montessori certification through the North American Montessori Center. While in Singapore, she volunteered at a Montessori school, and then later taught at one. Eager to learn more preschool pedagogies, Molly attended the Reggio Emilia Study Tour held in Italy at the Loris Malaguzzi Center in November 2023. There, she became absolutely inspired to use this method and consequently found herself at Bennett Day School!

Molly is convinced she has picked one of the most interesting careers, and feels grateful that she gets to experience joy and awe every day at work, and believes in the immense capabilities of the young child. Molly loves traveling, reading, and spending lots of time by the lake!
