Laura Maheshwary

Laura Maheshwary brings more than two decades of work in education and education reporting to her role in enrollment at Bennett Day School. Her introduction to Bennett began as a parent searching for a school that embraced the Reggio approach, which deeply resonated with her. Laura’s background as an education reporter allowed her to explore what made schools and their leaders thrive—or struggle—during the era of No Child Left Behind. It was during this period that she first encountered the Reggio approach and became captivated by its philosophy.

Laura transitioned from journalism to education, teaching and working in school administration across Boston and New York before settling in Chicago. While working at Christopher House, a Chicago non-profit managing the Early Childhood programming, she participated in a Reggio study tour in Italy and helped organize an international study group that brought Reggio Emilia educators to Chicago to see how the philosophy was implemented in Chicago schools. Laura also served on the Board of Park West Cooperative Nursery School for several years.

Laura is a proud Blue Jay parent with two daughters attending the school.
