Kristen Solis

Kristen is excited to begin her second year at Bennett Day School after spending 18 years teaching for Chicago Public Schools. During her tenure in CPS, Kristen taught students from 2nd through 5th grade. She values the importance of collaboration and exploration in the classroom. With a commitment to a student-centered learning environment, Kristen strives to be flexible with each student’s learning style. She embraces an inclusive environment where each member of the classroom community feels safe and welcome in their shared space each day.

Kristen received her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from DePaul University with a minor in Psychology. She also holds an M.Ed in Curriculum and Instruction. After spending almost two decades in a traditional classroom setting, Kristen is excited to continue immersing herself in the progressive and collaborative environment that Bennett Day provides for the school community. Outside of school, Kristen enjoys spending time outdoors with her husband and three children. They also love visiting new destinations in the city and beyond and are always ready for a new adventure!
