Julia Hodges

Julia Hodges is excited to be joining the Bennett community as both an Upper School teacher and a parent. As an engineer turned STEM teacher, Julia is passionate about helping young people see themselves in STEM. She is a deep believer in the power of project-based learning to help students learn to problem solve, navigate ambiguity, and harness failure in a productive way. Julia holds a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Notre Dame and a master’s degree in Teaching from Dominican University. She has over a decade of teaching experience in public, independent, and informal settings and most recently worked as a member of the design team and founding faculty at the Mastery School of Hawken in Cleveland, OH. Outside of the classroom you can find Julia hiking with her family, working on projects around her house, or exploring the food and music scene in the city.
