John O’Rourke

John O’Rourke has taught Middle School social studies in Chicago for over twenty years. John received his BA in Government and International Relations from the University of Notre Dame. After working in government and politics for a while here in Chicago, he decided to change careers and went to DePaul University to earn a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning. John and his wife Brooke live in the Avondale neighborhood with their children Molly (9) and Teddy (11). John believes that kids learn best when they’re having fun and uses his sense of humor to connect with students and keep things interesting in the classroom.
