Angelica Ostiguin is a First Generation Oaxacan-Mexican American educator with a deep passion for Earth and Environmental Sciences, complemented by a minor in Biological Sciences. Her research journey has taken her throughout the U.S. and Guatemala, where she has worked on ecological, agricultural, and geological conservation projects supported by the National Science Foundation, collaborating with esteemed institutions like The Chicago Botanic Garden and The University of Illinois-Chicago.
In addition to her research, Angelica has dedicated herself to youth education in various capacities, including Middle School Science Teacher, Camp Counselor, After-School Mentor, Children’s Museum Specialist, and Lead Art Teacher. Committed to inspiring the next generation, she aims to foster a love for science, particularly conservation, in her community, encouraging students to explore and pursue careers in the field of STEM.
