Amanda Konkol

Early Childhood and Lower School Art Teacher
Early Childhood, Lower School
Amanda is eager to enter this year as Bennett’s Early Childhood and Lower School Art Teacher. Informed by her four years of experience within Bennett and in K-12 museum education, Amanda embraces a multidisciplinary teaching approach which draws from the core tenets of Reggio Emilia, Project Based Learning, and best practices in Social Emotional Learning.
Amanda is committed to establishing a culture of inclusion and curiosity in the Art Studio. This begins with the celebration of self-expression, experimentation, and healthy risk-taking. With support, students gain exposure to art movements, materials, and techniques that become fuel for creative expression. Amanda is guided by the belief that, alongside a responsive and attuned educator, students can become architects of their own learning. Amanda looks forward to this school year with hope and excitement, knowing there is so much to create! She cannot wait to share the joys of art-making with her students.
Amanda has held positions at the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago, Chicago Artist Coalition, and Frank Lloyd Wright Trust. She has contributed to public projects in collaboration with the Art Institute of Chicago, EXPO Chicago, and the Beverly Art Center. Amanda holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
