Dana is a born and bred Chicagoan. She holds a B.S. in Elementary Education from DePaul University and was a classroom teacher for 18 years in both suburban and city schools. Dana also holds an MA in Administrative and Institutional Policy Studies from the University of Chicago, an MA in Educational Leadership from DePaul, and a certificate in School Management and Leadership from the Harvard Business School. She has been an administrator for nine years, both as an Assistant Principal and a Principal. She is currently pursuing a PhD in Global Educational Leadership, also at DePaul University. Dana’s commitment to distributed leadership encourages teachers to contribute their knowledge, talent, and experience to create the strongest, most authentic educational experience for our young people. Dana is the mother of Cameron, age 25 (UICU ‘22) and Patrick, age 23 (UW ‘24). She loves Chicago theater and opera, all things chocolate, and the beach is her happy place!
