Upper School Humanities Teacher
Upper School
Alexandra (or Alex) is thrilled to be continuing her journey in project-based education at Bennett. Alex received a BA in English with minors in philosophy and French from Olivet Nazarene University in 2016 before taking a few years to work and travel. In May 2020 she completed her MA in Secondary English Education from Loyola University Chicago. After spending three years developing a project-based 9-12 humanities curriculum at Cabot School in Vermont, she decided to return to Illinois to be close to friends and family. As a humanities educator, Alex believes in the power of stories to promote curiosity, reflection, and understanding, and she loves using writing and literature to help students explore their inner lives and the outside world. When she’s not teaching, Alex can be found reading, cooking, oil painting, and getting outside with her two dogs.
