Senior Advisor
Jackie Miller serves as Senior Advisor at Bennett Day School following seven years of leadership at Bennett, including most recently as Head of School. In her current role, she partners closely with Head of School Heidi Hutchison to support a thoughtful leadership transition, ensuring continuity for the Bennett community while helping position the school for its next chapter of growth through June 2027.
Since joining Bennett in 2019, Jackie has played an instrumental role in the school’s evolution from an emerging elementary program to a full PreK–12 institution. Throughout her tenure, she helped guide significant milestones, including the launch of the Upper School, the graduation of Bennett’s first senior class in 2023, and the continued growth of the school’s distinctive progressive educational model. Her leadership strengthened Bennett’s culture, advanced innovative teaching and learning, and established a strong foundation for the school’s future.
Beyond Bennett, Jackie is an active contributor to the broader independent school community. She has served as a visiting evaluation team member for the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS) and has presented at professional conferences, including the annual ISACS Conference and Stanford University’s Challenge Success program, where she has shared insights on student well-being and progressive education. In 2023, Jackie delivered the keynote address at the ACM Interaction Design and Children (IDC) Conference hosted by Northwestern University, highlighting her thought leadership at the intersection of education, design, and innovation. She also serves on the SIBS Board at Misericordia Heart of Mercy.
Jackie holds a B.A. from Indiana University and an M.Ed. from Loyola University. Prior to joining Bennett, she held teaching and leadership roles at The Frances Xavier Warde School. As Senior Advisor, she remains deeply committed to Bennett’s mission and to supporting a seamless leadership transition that positions the school for continued success.
