Head of School

Jackie Miller serves as the Head of School at Bennett Day School, where she leads with a deep commitment to progressive education, student-centered learning, and the development of a strong, inclusive school community. Since joining Bennett in 2019, Jackie has helped guide the school’s growth from an emerging elementary program to a full PreK–12 institution with its first graduating class in 2023.

At Bennett, Jackie oversees all facets of school leadership, including strategic planning, faculty development, program innovation, and community engagement. She is deeply invested in creating structures that empower students and educators alike, and in building a school culture rooted in curiosity, belonging, and impact.

Beyond Bennett, Jackie is an active contributor to the broader independent school community. She has served as a visiting evaluation team member for the Independent Schools Association of the Central States (ISACS). She has presented at professional conferences, including the annual ISACS Conference, Stanford University’s Challenge Success program, where she shares insights on student well-being and progressive pedagogy, and in 2023, Jackie was honored to deliver the keynote address at the ACM Interaction Design and Children (IDC) Conference hosted by Northwestern University, reflecting her thought leadership at the intersection of education, design, and innovation. Jackie sits on the SIBS Board at Misericordia Heart of Mercy.

Jackie holds a B.A. from Indiana University and an M.Ed. from Loyola University. Prior to her time at Bennett, she held teaching and leadership roles at The Frances Xavier Warde School. Jackie is proud to lead a community where curiosity, empathy, and innovation are at the heart of the educational experience.
