Building its strong leadership team to address rapid growth

Chicago, IL. (June 10, 2016) — This week, Bennett Day School, Chicago’s fastest growing progressive school, announced the addition of Christa Reed as the school’s first Director of Marketing and Development. The role was created to manage community outreach, partnerships, and to embody the school’s mission of advancing creativity, innovation, and the development of lifelong learners and leaders. Reed has 13 years of marketing, media, and management experience and most recently spent time as the Associate Executive Director of Neighborhood Parents Network.

Reed is Bennett’s newest high-profile hire in recent months and comes at an exciting time. The school has doubled enrollment each of the last two years and has attracted staff and faculty from other elite and well-established independent schools in Chicago, New York, and the Bay Area. Chief Academic Officer, Kate Cicchelli says, “Our commitment to engaging children as collaborators, and using project-based, real-world problem solving as a vehicle for achieving academic excellence has drawn a diverse population to our school.  What we are doing here is unique and effective, and the Chicago school landscape needs more of that.  This has allowed us to build a team of world-class faculty and passionate school ambassadors”.

Bennett Day School offers Chicago families a top-notch education near their homes and offices and incorporates the vibrancy of downtown into the classroom on a daily basis. The low ratio of students to teachers make the classroom environment collaborative and empowering. “We are confident that we can serve a niche of families that are dedicated to providing their children with a well-rounded experience that is progressive in nature”, said Chief Executive Officer, Cameron Smith. “We have worked hard to design an environment that incorporates innovation and documentation in a way that we believe all schools will emulate.  Ms. Reed’s hire is a big step in the progress we’ve made and continue to make in the community”.

Reed will be based in the school’s flagship location in West Town and is thrilled to be a part of this endeavor. “I’m joining Bennett’s executive team at an exciting time and could not be more enthusiastic about the direction Bennett is headed in,” Reed said. “Our team will work hard to show Chicago that education can be child-centered, attainable, affordable, and innovative all at the same time”.
