Construction Update on New Campus and Virtual Tour Event on February 25

Installation of structural steel for the first floor is continuing at our new campus.  Shoring has been installed and old steel framing has been removed.  Completion of the steel framing will allow further construction steps to continue. Completion of the first floor decking will also allow the lower level underground plumbing work and placement of the slab on grade to take place.

While construction continues, faculty and design consultants held a series of meetings last week to finalize the furniture/finish materials and review plans for the various IT and low voltage systems that will go into the building to support the technology needs of our learning spaces.  In addition to the code-required fire alarm and related life safety systems, security plans include an electronic access control system, an exterior closed circuit camera system, and two-way communication with the school administration from each of the classroom spaces.

With final selection of the finishes, orders for furniture and casework are anticipated over the coming month.  Advice and guidance received from experts in school construction and development has been invaluable from BLDD (architects), CCJM (engineers), AT Group (project managers), LMC Group (furniture consultants), Sierra Consulting (IT consultants), Scholar Partners (operations consultants), and Erica Gail (interior design / finishes specifier).

On February 25, we will hold a unique Virtual Tour evening event with parents of general admissions applicants, rolling admissions / waitlist applicants, and enrolled students to view the interior rendering video of our new campus; review a 3D printed model of the new campus; meet our architects; visit with our parent landscape committee and special guests; and more.
